INFORMATION FOR LGBTQI+ COMMUNITY

The General Meeting of the European Association of Social Psychology presents an excellent opportunity to engage in discussions on enhancing the well-being of marginalized groups, mitigating prejudice, and fostering greater acceptance of individuals with diverse backgrounds. During the conference, we intend to host a meeting with local stakeholders representing LGBTQI+ organizations to delve deeper into these issues, as well as some events in local LGBTQI+ friendly bars or clubs.

Sadly, the situation of the LGBTQI+ community in Poland is far from ideal. LGBTQI+ are facing systemic discrimination (e.g., insufficient legal protection) and discrimination in daily life.

However, it is unlikely that as a conference attendee visiting Poland for a short period of time, you will face any challenges related to your sexual orientation. However, we suggest caution when it comes to public display of affection. We would also suggest visiting venues closer to the city center. Taking the opportunity to visit Kraków can provide valuable insights into the situation and offer support to the local LGBTQI+ community.
